I was never big on keeping up with television series in the past because I was always too busy to see them through. However, when I do start a series I binge until it's over - often hiding myself in my room for a few days and watching every single episode with a bowl of popcorn and a hot cup of tea.
Coming back from studying abroad meant getting back into the normal routine and relaxing before the new semester starts. During this time I started watching "Westworld," and the series has been by far my favorite.
"Westworld" is a sci-fi western thriller television series that revolves around a technologically advanced Wild West theme park inhabited by AI - or artificial intelligence. One of the creators of this series is Jonathan Nolan, which means the audience can automatically anticipate how intense the storyline will be.
For quite some time now, I've been struggling on finding my self-identity. I knew I had passions, but I still felt lost. Everything I was doing wasn't working for me, which then lead to lots of confusion and depression. All I felt was frustration. But after watching this series, I came to understand that life is this never ending journey. We have to go through all this suffering, over and over again, in order to find our identity. Life is about trial and error, and if you accept that ... you can only improve.
By watching "Westworld" I've come to terms with the state that I am in. Not in a sense that I am settling, but in a way that I've accepted there is a process to success. Right now I am in that process and the feelings I feel are only natural. What I want will come in due time. I just have to keep on moving forward.
For this look I really wanted to show off the contrast between femininity and masculinity. Black leather goes incredibly well with silver; thus, I added a tight chain choker and bullet chain necklace. The textures and color bounce off each other to create a futuristic aesthetic with an early 90s vibes. The oversized fur coat added a softness - not just in feel - but in vibes. The light blue blended in with the sky causing the look to stand out but still embrace the environment.
