SEOUL '15 | FALL IN SEOUL: INSIDE THE PALACE GATES
Ganma Magazine Issue 2 | Fall in Seoul
In August, I took a three week vacation to South Korea. I spent my days eating, shopping, playing with friends, sightseeing, and of course taking photos. In this month's issue of Ganma, I give a brief introduction to two autumn looks as well as a glimpse into some delicious eateries all around the Seoul area. To read the full magazine, click here.
This is part one of my two looks: "Inside the Palace Gates."

During my first trip to South Korea in 2014, I was unable to see the Gyeongbokgung Palace and all of its beauty due to the fact that when I decided to go it was closed... Hence, my previous blog post last year was called "Beyond the Palace." This year I upgraded to "Inside the Palace Gates" for obvious reasons, and I'm extremely happy I did.
Known as the "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven," Gyeongbokgung Palace lies in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. The Palace was founded in 1392 during the Josen Era and since then have been destroyed and reconstructed quite a few times. Today, the Palace lies in the center of the bustling city, sticking out in all of its color and beauty amongst its metallic high-rise neighborsof Seoul. The Palace opens at 9:00am and closes at around 18:00pm, while being fully closed on Tuesdays. Gyeongbokgung Palace is definitely a place worth stopping by while traveling to Seoul. It's rich with history and culture and also such a breathtaking sight. It truly feels like you've escaped from the city.
For this look, I wanted to channel a military/palace guard vibe that's perfectly suited for the fall season. The turtleneck crop top and high waisted shorts bring together the summer elements while the large oversized army green coat represents fall. All black is slimming to the figure and the lightness of the coat keeps my cool enough for the lingering summer heat but warm enough for the subtle autumn breeze. The thigh high socks combined with the platform boots makes my legs look longer and overall compliments the entire "combat" vibe. As for the sunglasses, I couldn't choose between the two. The black for if I'm feeling more chic and edgy while the gold for if I'm feeling more funky and daring.
